Sen. John McCain has been making news of late for the wrong reasons. Some are whispering that he’s becoming the Nancy Pelosi of the Republican Party.
He has been relentless in attacking the leader of his Party, President Donald Trump and is showing signs of becoming increasingly confused.
The Hill reported last week that McCain told The Guardian that America’s standing in the world was stronger under Barack Obama than under Donald Trump.
McCain has also been at odds with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson for not being willing to push American values onto other countries.
With those words, Secretary Tillerson sent a message to oppressed people everywhere: Don’t look to the United States for hope.
— John McCain
But even more concerning was McCain’s performance at the Comey hearings. He seemed to be unable to follow the events and asked questions that were, at times, incoherent and confusing. According to The Washington Post, several times McCain referred to “President Comey.”
John McCain was a war hero and has been an effective U.S. Senator for many years, but it may be time for him to retire.
