Jeb Bush was branded with some unfortunate labels during his failed run for President in 2016, including “Low-Energy” and “Sad Jeb Bush.” But there’s one thing the former Florida governor was never accused of – being stupid.
Bush said on Thursday that he does not believe President Trump obstructed justice by firing former FBI director James Comey.
Obstruction would only apply, he said, if the FBI’s investigation was tampered with as a result of a changing of executives at the agency.
Reassuring words. But even in his advice for Trump, Bush flashed the pathos that squandered any chance of catching Trump in the polls in 2015 and ’16.
“Who cares what I think,” he muttered at one point.
The President should “get back to the business of governing,” Bush continued while quickly regaining his composure. “The President just needs to focus on doing his job.”
