After weeks of suspense, the House or Representatives voted on Thursday to repeal Obamacare. The final vote was 217 to 213. As expected, all the Democrats voted against the bill.
Shortly after the vote, President Trump expressed his pleasure at the legislative victory.
If victorious, Republicans will be having a big press conference at the beautiful Rose Garden of the White House immediately after vote!

The bill now goes to the Senate where it is expected to face stiff opposition. However, as the President and House leadership have demonstrated, with enough compromise it proved possible to pass the bill and the same tactics may prove successful in the Senate.
ABC News reported the President remarks after the vote:
What we have is something very, very incredibly well-crafted. This has really brought the Republican Party together. As much as we’ve come up with a really incredible health care plan, this has brought the Republican Party together. We’re going to get this finished. It’s going to be an unbelievable victory when we get it through the Senate and there’s so much spirit there.
— President Donald Trump
Both the President and the GOP made the repeal and replacement of the unpopular heath care program a cornerstone of the 2016 campaign and the Republicans risk the wrath of the voters if they fail to carry through on their promise.
