When a young man, Calvin Carter III attempted to commit an armed home invasion, he expected to be able to use his weapon to intimidate, bully and steal from innocent citizens. But he was wrong. Carter was disarmed and overpowered until the police could turn up and take him into custody, unfortunately, during the struggle, he received an incredibly bad beating (see picture below).
But this brings us to a larger issue. What level of force is acceptable to use against someone who has broken into your home?
In the UK several years ago, a farmer named Tony Martin was sent to prison for shooting armed burglars on his property; why do the Left want to control guns? Could it be to make us live in fear of not being able to defend ourselves? And thereby must be reliant on the State to protect us.
As reported in the Daily Caller:
Calvin Carter III knocked on an apartment door Saturday night and demanded the residents let him in, reports WRCB.
One victim said he thought he heard Carter racking a gun through the door, and opted to jump out of the apartment’s back window. However, Carter discovered the victim and forced him at gunpoint to reenter the building.
That’s when things got a little sticky for Carter.
Carter demanded the victim hand over his cellphone, but during the exchange both victims jumped him, disarmed him and held him down until police arrived.
