The original Aunt Viv is pissed off.
Janet Hubert is the woman who originally played Aunt Viv when “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” first aired in the 90s, who played Carlton Banks on the show, shared a reunion photo on social media. But, it didn’t include Hubert. And, she’s not happy about it.
So, the original Aunt Viv took to her own Feabook page to express her anger. She bashed Ribeiro, her former co-star in a lengthy Facebook post. The actress, who’s well-known for her outspoken ways, accused the man who played her son on the show of trying to get attention.
Hubert says she’s not interested in seeing any of the cast members of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” She went on to call Ribeiro a “media hoe,” noting that he’s always been an “asswipe for Will,” she wrote in her post.
“I know the media hoe Alphonso Ribeiro has posted his so called reunion photo. Folks keep telling me about it,” she wrote. “He was always the a– wipe for Will (Smith). There will never be a true reunion of the Fresh Prince. I have no interest in seeing any of these people on that kind of level.”
Hubert said she wasn’t offended about not being asked to be a part of the “Fresh Prince” get-together, but said it did make her want to “take some meetings in Hollywood” to pitch her memoir which will contain behind-the-scenes stories from the show.
Ribeiro posted the nostalgic reunion picture to his Instagram Monday.
“Always amazing to spend an afternoon with my Fresh Prince family,” he wrote.
Other than Hubert, the only other cast member missing from the photo was James Avery, who played the lovable TV father Uncle Phil. Avery died in 2013 from complications during open heart surgery.
Smith also shared a photo with the “Fresh Prince” cast writing that they were his “BFFs.”
Hubert was replaced on the show after season 3 following rumors of tension between her and Smith.
Daphne Maxwell Reid took over filling in as the family matriarch.
