Out of all of Donald Trump’s promises on the campaign trail, the one credited with winning him the most support was the promise to get illegal migrant entries under control. But shocking new figures have emerged that since assuming the office of President, more than 36,000 illegal migrants have been granted amnesty.
In what is sure to annoy the core base of Trump supporters, the DACA regulations that allow naturalization after 7 years are still and place and look unlikely to be repealed. Obama’s brainchild is “a very tricky subject for me” says the President.
As reported in the Daily Caller:
Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) was started by President Obama in 2012 and allows for illegal immigrants who have been in the U.S. since 2007 and arrived under the age of 16 to receive work permits, access to welfare, and protection from deportation. More than 750,000 illegal immigrants are covered by the policy.
Obama also launched Deferred Action for Parents of Americans (DAPA), which is an amnesty for illegal immigrant parents of American citizen children, however, this has been blocked from implementation by court decisions.
Trump needs to get moving on this, or his voter base might disappear come 2020.
