The entertainment industry has become increasingly vocal in terms of its political opinions over the last decades, and it looks like one performer is set to join government: Kid Rock appears to be officially running for the Senate in 2018.
A long-time Republican, the rapper and songwriter publicly supported Donald Trump’s presidential election in 2016. Rock sent the rumor mill going when he tweeted a photo of a sign in his yard which read “Kid Rock for US Senate,” on July 12 this year.
It appears that the rumor could be legitimate, however, as he tweeted on Monday:

The Daily Caller reports:
It appears that Kid Rock’s run for the Senate in 2018 is officially happening.
Kid Rock raised eyebrows when he hinted at a run for public office last week, and some denounced it as a hoax. However, he also shot down the rumors it was a hoax on his Facebook page.
Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, tweeted out kidrockforsenate.com around noon Monday.
“I Believe if you work your butt off and pay your taxes, you should be able to easily understand and navigate the laws, tax codes, health care and anything else the government puts in place that affects us all,” Rock said in the attached image on the tweet.
