Amazon is the latest target of a group that wants companies to quit placing ads with Breitbart.
The group, Sleeping Giants, has engaged in a campaign to force companies to cease advertising with Breitbart due to the papers affiliation with the Trump White House, specifically the role of Presidential advisor Steve Bannon.
Sleeping Giants has collaborated with ‘MoveOn’ and ‘UltraViolet’ to deliver petitions to Amazon demanding that the company cease all direct and third-party advertising on Breitbart.

According to CNN Tech, protesters gathered outside Amazon’s annual shareholder meeting with signs such as “stop funding hate,” and “primed for hate.”
Sleeping Giant claims that they have been successful in getting Kellogg, Warby Parker, and Etsy to pull their ads off Breitbart. They have also organized groups of employees within Amazon to encourage the company to “rethink” its advertising ties with Breitbart.
After Amazon, the next target on the group’s list is Google.
The issue for large companies like Amazon and Google is that they risk a counter-backlash from supporters of the causes that Breitbart supports who likely outnumber the supporters of groups like Sleeping Giant or MoveOn.
