Not all was lost for Republicans on the Hill this week.
The U.S. House of Representatives has passed a bill rolling back the Obama gun restrictions on United States military veterans.
“I strongly believe we must do everything in our power to protect the rights guaranteed to all Americans, especially the men and women who have served, by the Constitution,” said Tennessee Representative Phil Roe (in photo).
The Veterans Second Amendment Protection Act changes the process the VA uses to determine which of its beneficiaries are mentally incompetent. The law would require that a judicial authority must find that the veteran is a danger to herself before stripping away any gun rights.
The Obama-era rules have resulted in 100,000’s of vets being prohibited from owning a firearm.
