Byron York of the Washington Examiner is reporting that despite all, work on the Mexican border wall is underway.
What’s more, a good chunk of the funding is already in place.
The project is beginning under President Trump’s executive order signed on January 25th that signified securing the “southern border of the United States through the construction of a physical wall.”
The order also cited an existing law called the Secure Fence Act, which calls for the construction of “at least 2 layers of reinforced fencing” and “additional physical barriers” on up to 700 miles of the Mexican border.
“The executive order calls on the authority in the Secure Fence Act for us to begin immediately,” said a Trump Administration official.
The border wall, writes York, will not look the same in all sections of the southern border, due to topography and the flow of illegal immigrants being higher in some states than others.
