A few days ago it was mere speculation that Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle might be under consideration to replace Sean Spicer as White House Press Secretary.
However, now that Kimberly has revealed that she’s “been in” conversations with the Trump administration about a role, the news is being taken more seriously.
Spicer has been under increasing pressure since the firing of James Comey last week, and there are reports that the President has lost confidence.
The Hollywood Reporter quoted Guilfoyle as saying:
Sean Spicer is a very nice man and a patriot; he’s dedicated himself to this public service. Very tough position he’s in — I wish him the best, and I know he puts a lot of effort into it.”
I’m a patriot, and it would be an honor to serve the country. I think it’d be a fascinating job, it’s a challenging job, and you need someone really determined and focused, a great communicator in there with deep knowledge to be able to handle that position.
A former prosecutor in L.A. and San Francisco Kimberly would likely prove to be a tough and effective press secretary. It would certainly make for an interesting story.
