Fox News continues its efforts to shed the network of its conservative history.
The latest thing to fall is Fox’s longtime motto of promising ‘Fair and Balanced’ news coverage. The New York Times confirmed that the network has officially put ‘Fair and Balanced’ in the dustbin of slogans.
Since giving in to the politically correct crowd by firing Roger Ailes, the network founder, and the behind the scenes force of Fox, the younger generation of the Murdoch family has been committed to changing Fox News.
Long a rallying cry among the conservative viewers, the ‘Fair and Balanced’ motto was intended to counter the widespread liberal bias in print and broadcast media.
And, it worked. Liberals were upset at the implication that their presentation of the news might be, by implication, not fair and balanced.
Fox has also sidelined another slogan ‘We Report, You Decide,’ although the network said it might return from time to time.
