Rachel Dolezal, who used to be an NAACP President until she was found out for not being black has hit hard times and is struggling to get by. After her fall from grace, she still says that “She identifies as being black” despite having no African-American heritage. She is now claiming food stamps and is looking at losing her house next month.
As reported in the Daily Caller:
“There’s no protected class for me,” the former NAACP branch president told The Guardian. “I’m this generic, ambiguous scapegoat for white people to call me a race traitor and take out their hostility on. And I’m a target for anger and pain about white people from the black community. It’s like I am the worst of all these worlds.”
Despite applying for more than 100 jobs in a range of fields (even as a supermarket worker), no one seems willing to employ Dolezal. She has however been offered work in the adult film industry.
In what appears to be a complete disconnect from reality, Dolezal said:
“I do think a more complex label would be helpful, but we don’t really have that vocabulary,” said the former Africana studies instructor. “I feel like the idea of being trans-black would be much more accurate than ‘I’m white.’ Because you know, I’m not white.”
