In an editorial published in The Hill today, former CIA director James Woolsey argued that North Korea is developing the capacity to threaten almost all of the U.S. population with a sneaky, tactical nuclear weapon strike.
North Korean forces would not have to succeed in hitting the United States with dozens of missile strikes to wage a successful nuclear war against our country, argues Woolsey, but rather use their existing technology to deploy a single nuclear device high above the Earth.
A lone nuclear bomb could generate an electro-magnetic pulse capable of knocking out the entire U.S. power grid, killing hundreds of millions of people by destroying life-sustaining electronic systems and causing the collapse of our economy.
As proof, Woolsey details how Kim Jong-Un has been photographed posing with miniaturized nuclear warheads. And DPRK does, he explains, possess 2 classes of intercontinental ballistic missiles.
