A Florida man, Brian Murphy, claims his dog shot his girlfriend in the leg, several reports state.
Murphy, told the police that their dog had woken him up in the middle of the night, so he took the pooch for a walk. After coming back from their midnight stroll, Murphy says they walked back into the bedroom, and he couldn’t quite see what happened in the dark, but he saw a flash and heard a bang. His girlfriend was shot in the leg. Murphy thinks that the dog may have jumped on the nightstand, where Murphy has his gun, and accidentally set it off.
Summer Miracle, the girlfriend, says she was asleep at the time and is not sure what happened yet. She says she woke up with a pain in her leg. She was taken to the hospital right away. Her injuries were not life-threatening.
Police are still investigating the matter.

Dogs may eat homework, but they don’t shoot guns.
A Florida man is claiming his pet shot his girlfriend in the leg while she was sleeping.
The incident happened Tuesday night at the Jacksonville home of Brian Murphy and his girlfriend, Summer Miracle.
Murphy, 25, told authorities that his dog Diesel woke him up so he decided to take the pooch out for a little bit.
Murphy said he saw a flash and heard a loud bang right after he went into the bedroom and realized his girlfriend had been shot.
In a police report, Murphy said he thinks the mischievous pup “jumped on the night stand where his gun was sitting and it went off.”
Miracle was shot in her right leg, but told police she doesn’t know what happened because she was sleeping and awoke to “throbbing pain” in her leg.
Murphy said he covered Miracle’s leg with a towel and called 911 to report the shooting.
Miracle was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to be OK.
No word on if the gun-shooting pup will be charged.
