Piacenta Jackson, of Woodbury, New Jersey, caused quite a scene as she tracked down and shot her ex-boyfriend, bus driver Ryon Reynolds, 45. After she shot her ex, she led police on a short chase, before turning the gun on herself.
After shooting Reynolds, Jackson hopped in her car and went speeding off, with law enforcement right behind her. As they surrounded her car and blocked it in, she exited the car, and shot herself.
“They were coming in both directions and they blocked (her car) in,” Mantua resident Jeff Gellenthin told the NJ.com. “I heard one pop … and the door was open and (the police) all gathered around.”
The Daily Mail reports:
‘I still can’t believe it,’ she said. ‘I can’t get it in my head yet. Ryon was the best. Everybody loved him.’
She explained that Reynolds and Jackson had been dating but he had recently chosen to end their relationship.
‘She went to his job and killed him,’ she said.
Rose Reynolds described her nephew as a ‘great guy’ and a former high school football star.
‘He worked so hard for so many years,’ she said.
A colleague of Reynolds, Rick Bucci, added that the victim was a ‘good man with a crazy girlfriend.’
Authorities are continuing to investigate the shooting.
Jackson, who worked for the Department of Corrections for 14 years, was a corrections officer at Southern State Correctional Facility.
