Georgia 6th District House of Representatives candidate Karen Handel has won the early vote in the bellwether county of Fulton, GA, giving Republicans hope that the GOP can hold on to the Congressional seat after all.
The good news comes after Democrats poured gigantic sums of cash into propping up Jon Ossoff, a candidate who does not live in the District and collected a majority of donations from California and Washington D.C.
An extremely tight race is expected. Handel’s early lead, for instance, is only between 2% and 3% but is being considered an important indicator.
The weather has also been lucky for Republicans, with rain, storms, and flooding potentially tamping down the vote in several local Democrat strong-holds.
In another good sign for the GOP, the race is not trending on Twitter…which is mostly populated by Democrats.
Some Democrat-leaning pundits are already spinning their tweets to try to counter the sting of a potential loss, claiming that even (another) close loss is good news for the Left.
