Terry McAuliffe, the Democratic governor of Virginia, made an already-infamous gaffe today when he stated that almost 100 million Americans a day lose their lives to gun violence.
“We lose 93 million Americans a day to gun violence,” he told a stunned and flabbergasted press corps. Gee, Terry…that’s pushing a billion people a week. At this rate, everyone in the world will be shot and killed by September.
The incident can be seen as comic relief on a day in which it is sorely needed.
However, the governor was also heartlessly engaged in a dirty, age-old trick, attempting to slant a tragedy to score political points – in this case, Democrat talking points on gun control.
