Camille Paglia, a well-respected New York liberal writer, told Frank Bruni of the New York Times in a panel discussion that Donald Trump out-campaigned Hillary Clinton and deserved to win.
Even more shockingly, she predicts that President Trump will win reelection in 2020!
Paglia seems capable of accepting the election result, not something that most liberals have been willing or able to do.
“I am a Bernie Sanders supporter. I voted for Jill Stein. So I want to make that clear,” Paglia began. “(But) my feeling is that an election occurred,” she said in a quote almost brilliant in its simplicity and respect for the Electoral College.
“The Democrats have overplayed their hand,” she continued while predicting a Trump win in 2020. “What they needed to do (instead of paranoid blame-shifting) is some soul-searching.”
Paglia concluded by mentioning Trump’s surprising African-American support and populist message during the fall months of 2016. “I could feel the momentum,” she told a still-bitter, skeptical liberal panel. “The New York media lives in a total bubble.”
