Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad has just said that the Chemical weapons attack didn’t actually happen. In an interview, he stated that the US is behind a smoke and mirrors campaign of disinformation and made the whole thing up. He cites fake video footage and false reports as an effort to destabilize his regime.
Whilst there has been some conjecture as to whether the attacks came from Assad’s regime or ISIS fighters, up until now, no one was suggesting that the attacks didn’t happen.
Much of the MSM (who are on the side that believe Assad is responsible for the deaths) are deriding Al-Assad’s comments as “make believe”.
As reported in the Daily Caller:
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad believes the U.S. fabricated a chemical weapons attack in order to justify a cruise missile strike, he told AFP in a Thursday interview.
“Definitely, 100 percent for us, it’s fabrication… Our impression is that the West, mainly the United States, is hand-in-glove with the terrorists,” Assad declared.
He continued, “they fabricated the whole story in order to have a pretext for the attack.” Assad further claimed the Syrian Arab Army relinquished all of its chemical weapons stock under the terms of a 2013 deal brokered between the U.S. and Russia.
