The Democrats are threatening to shut down the government this weekend if Congress does bow to the will of the minority.
At stake is the Saturday deadline for passing a continuing resolution to provide funding for the government. If no bill is passed, then the federal government will need to start curtailing non-critical functions.
What has the Democrats upset is the possibility that the Republican majority in both Houses of Congress may have found a solution to repeal and replace Obamacare and are hoping to bring it to a vote by Saturday.
Here’s how ZeroHedge described the Democrats tactics:
Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) the Democratic whip, issued the following threat: If Republicans announce their intention to bring their harmful TrumpCare bill to the House Floor tomorrow or Saturday, I will oppose a one-week Continuing Resolution and will advise House Democrats to oppose it as well.
The Democrats are confident that any blame for shutting down the government will fall on the Republicans, but they may be in for a surprise. There are some GOP members who do not fear to shut down the government and feel that the Democrats are miscalculating whom the people will blame.
As families prepare for summer vacations in our National Parks – Democrats threaten to close them and shut down the government. Terrible!
