Democratic Senator Chris Murphy is saying that he believes Donald Trump’s rhetoric about Muslims will lead to terrorist attacks like the suicide bombing in Manchester, England.
That in spite of Trump’s joyous reception and words of peace to Muslims earlier this week.
“Are you saying that you believe the rhetoric of the President makes this country more vulnerable for a terrorist attack right now?” Clintonian Poppy Harlow asked Murphy on CNN this week.
“I am saying that,” Murphy replied, before going on to say Trump’s speech in Saudi Arabia does not erase the 3 or 4 out-of-context “gotcha” quotes that the entire accusation of Xenophobia is based on – er, no, really he said that it does not erase “the things (Trump) said.”
CNN’s John Berman interjected to ask why there were so many terror attacks on the United States when Obama was President, despite the former POTUS using “far different rhetoric.”
Murphy ducked the question and changed subjects.
