Office Chris Green of the East Liverpool, Ohio police department made a routine traffic stop last week that nearly killed him.
When Green pulled up to a stopped car, he noticed white powder on the driver and car seat and got some of the powder on his shirt, which he brushed off with his bare hand.
Within minutes, Officer Green fell to the floor, and his body began shutting down.
Fortunately, paramedics were already on the scene treating the driver of the car and were able to quickly give their attention to Green.
The Washington Post reported that the medics gave the officer a dose of Narcan, which is an FDA-approved medication that can reverse the lethal effects of an opioid overdose.
If he would have been alone, he would have been dead. That’s how dangerous this stuff is.

The incident highlighted how dangerous exposure to drugs like fentanyl could be for those that don’t regularly use the drug.
