The Cornerstone Christian Academy in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada has been warned to stop studying or reading any part of the Bible that could be classed as offensive.
Lauri Skori, the Battle River School Division chair, pointed out “any teachings that denigrate or vilify someone’s sexual orientation” should be banned.
There are two Bible passages at the heart of the dispute. They are 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 and Galatians 5:19-21.
The 1 Corinthians passage states, in part, “Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”
And from Galatians, we read, “The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like.”
So, the Bible can’t be taught at a Bible Academy?
How come we don’t hear these nuts complaining about Islamic teachings that encourage killing homosexuals?
The Federalist Papers Project reports:
A Christian Academy is being asked by their school district to abstain from using certain Biblical verses…
In other words, the Cornerstone Christian Academy in Edmonton, Alberta “must stop studying or reading any part of the Bible that could be considered offensive.”
