Commenting on Bill O’ Reilly‘s ouster at Fox News Channel, liberal MSNBC talk host Chris Matthews may have mentioned a few things on the air that he isn’t supposed to.
“I am here because of a corporate decision,” he said.
Matthews then remarked, ironically, “I am not a critic of the media…because I am the media,” unintentionally spelling out the warped self-absorbed mindset of almost all mainstream reporters.
Adding that 21st Century Fox will “pay a cost” in the short-term for letting go of O’Reilly, a proven ratings winner, the host commented that the decision was made not by individuals but a corporation.
“The 21st Century Fox decision is a very big deal. They didn’t make it because of ratings, they did it despite ratings,” he said.
