Chinese authorities have arrested a 22-year-old surnamed Xu after he set off a bomb at a kindergarten, as parents were picking up their children, killing 8 people, including himself.
When police searched his apartment, they found bomb making materials, alongside walls covered in writing. Police say Xu had written ‘die’ and ‘destroy’ in Chinese letters.
The blast struck Chuangxin Kindergarten in Feng County, Xuzhou, just as parents were picking up their children after work. The homemade bomb was planted at the gate. It injured as many as 65 people, with 9 in critical condition in the hospital.

The blast struck at 4.50pm on Thursday at Chuangxin Kindergarten in Feng County, Xuzhou as parents were waiting for their children to finish school.
Chinese authorities say the explosion was caused by a homemade bomb which was detonated at the gate of a kindergarten, killing eight including the suspect.
Police identified the man to be a 22-year-old surnamed Xu however his motive is not yet known.
Officers say emblazoned on the walls of the residence were the Chinese symbols for die, gone, destroy, end. Bomb making materials were also found in his house.
According to state media, two people died at the scene while five died later in hospital. Nine people are said to be in a critical condition.
While 65 people were injured with nine in a critical condition.
