18-year-old Brooke Skylar Richardson was described as a ‘good girl’. She didn’t smoke. She didn’t drink alcohol. She didn’t attend wild parties. And apparently, she loved children.
Although she had all that going for her, the Ohio cheerleader, was arrested by the police after they found a sick secret she had buried in the backyard.
Police charged Richardson with reckless homicide after the remains of her newborn baby were found. Evidence showed that the child had been born alive and was not a stillborn baby.
According to Warren County Prosecutor David Fornshell, “Law enforcement is continuing to treat this as an ongoing investigation.”
The baby’s remains were discovered last week in the backyard of Richardson’s Carlisle, Ohio, home by authorities following up on a tip from a doctor’s office. According to Lieutenant John Faine of the Warren’s County Sheriff’s Office, the remains may have been buried for more than two months before they were discovered.
Prosecutors are reportedly still waiting for the coroner to determine the baby’s official cause of death.
