Speaking on Fox News this morning, foreign policy expert Charles Krauthammer said that President Trump and the Pentagon should be open to the possibility of attacking North Korea first.
The analyst argued that should DPRK develop a nuclear missile capable of hitting the United States, there may be little choice but to pre-emptively take out Kim Jong-un‘s military.
Making such a policy known in advance could persuade the Chinese to order a total freeze on Jung-un’s nuclear program, said Krauthammer.
The Chinese, he said, and the North Koreans would each have to re-calculate their positions if they knew that a U.S. Navy and Air Force attack was on the table.
“I think that if we come to the final point, where they have a nuke on top of an ICBM, I think, yes a preemptive strike” would be warranted, said the Fox News mainstay.
“We cannot live in a world where Kim Jong-un can push a button and obliterate Seattle. We can’t live in that.”
