Cleveland police arrested Holly Hentges, 41, Nicholas Franklin, 21, and his 16-year-old brother, after the mom and son duo allegedly beat a man to death while they were breaking into his home.
Charles Foster was a father of 5, and a grandfather. He was brutally beaten by Hentges and Franklin.
Foster was a welder and worked locally. He most likely knew the family, living just a mile away from Hentges and her sons.
The Daily Mail reports:
An autopsy determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma, and Foster’s death was ruled a homicide. No motive for the killing was given.
Foster’s fiancee initially told investigators that he was ambushed by someone on his way home from a gas station.
All three suspects in the killing have been charged with aggravated murder.
Hentges’ younger son, who has not been named, is also charged in Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court with aggravated burglary and kidnapping.
Holly Hentges has a past criminal record that includes a 2002 conviction for endangering children for allowing a man living in her home to sell crack cocaine near a child.
Her rap sheet also includes convictions for misdemeanor disorderly conduct and for allowing her underage children to stay out past curfew.
According to his obituary, Foster leaves behind two sons, three daughters and two grandchildren, with a third on the way.
Police records show that the oldest son, Nicholas Franklin, already has an extensive rap sheet himself.
The young adult has already been picked up for possession and drug trafficking more than once.
