Open warfare is imminent, warns a letter sent from the border patrol union to agents in the Rio Grande Valley. The letter is in specific reference to the Mexican Gulf Cartel which has caused much frustration to the Mexican authorities.
The letter reads, “Recent events in Tamaulipas, Mexico, specifically in and around the city of Reynosa, pose a special risk to U.S. Border Patrol agents working in the region.”
It added, “Border Patrol agents working the line in any station’s area of operations immediately across the largely open border from Reynosa, Mexico, are advised to employ extra caution in the performance of their duties. Stray rounds from firearms have previously injured U.S. law enforcement personnel on the border.”
National Border Patrol Council Vice President Hector Garza said that there was added risk that the fighting could spill over and affect the general population.
It’s not like we need yet another reminder why we need the wall – but there it is in black and white. The violence from Mexico could easily spill across onto the U.S. border.
Trump knows it, and we know it.
