First Daughter Ivanka Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau attended a Broadway play together on Wednesday night, according to the White House branch of The Daily Caller.
The pair saw “Come From Away,” a stage play about a neighborhood which aided foreign travelers stranded after the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attack, at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater in New York City. Trump and Trudeau arrived in separate cars, but in the same procession.
Nikki Haley, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, attended the performance as well.
Trudeau, whose center-left agenda is often diametrically opposed to the right-wing populism of the Trumps, was all smiles…at least for one night. The world gets to see what it is to lean on each other and be there for each other through the darkest times,” he remarked at a related event. “There is no relationship quite like the friendship between Canada and the United States.”
