Olga Perez Stable Cox, a college professor at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa is now nominated to become ‘faculty member of the year.‘ Cox became famous during the 2016 Presidential election when she called the results an “act of terrorism”
She dragged Trump supporters through the mud, saying that they are attacking ‘what it means to be American.’ All of this was said in a classroom, which is definitely not the place to promote personal political agendas, but when it came to call her out on her rant, there was an uproar by students at her university who were trying to support her right to ‘free speech’ even though it violated the meaning of an institution t hat should not force their opinions on a captive audience.
From Young Conservatives:
“It is not some stranger from some other country coming and attacking our sense of what it means to be an American and the things that we stand for. And that makes it more painful because I’m sure that all of us have people in our families and our circle of friends that are part of that movement, and it is very difficult,” the professor said, adding that the U.S. was “really back to being [in a] civil war.”
“I don’t mean that in a fighting way, but our nation is divided as clearly as it was in Civil War times. And my hope is that we will get some good leadership to help us to overcome that,” Cox said.
