California, which has just introduced the largest ever fuel tax on it’s citizens, has just announced that they are putting together a fund of almost $30 million which will be used to help illegal migrants fight deportation. The total sum comes from three separate bills, but it is understood that essentially it will be in service of migrants fighting deportation.
As opposed to funding programs to help migrants become naturalized or to promote migrants getting on the track to becoming citizens, the California Democrats have decided that just fighting Federal Law is their best option. It is, of course, ridiculous.
If the Federal government goes to court with the State, how long will $30 million last? And of course, the Federal government will be spending even more tax money to fight it! The people who are going to end up paying for this shambles twice are the Californian citizens.
As reported in the Daily Caller:
These funds, however, are not enough for some Democrats in the state who seek to launch new programs. Democratic legislators have proposed three separate bills that impact legal training, start a legal defense program and increase counsel for deported veterans. These proposals add up to more than $26 million.
Ronald Coleman, government affairs director for the California Immigrant Policy Center, told the Times that these programs are “key given that California can be ground zero for the devastation that we would face from Donald Trump’s deportation policies.”
The $15 million cash-influx proposed by the Democratic governor would help with people facing deportations or seeking citizenship. Laura Polstein, an attorney at Centro Legal de la Raza, said this money would be a “game changer” for immigration lawyers.
