Breitbart author, Tim Ciccotta was forced to halt self-proclaimed feminist, Bucknell Univeristy professor after she repeated interrupted guest speaker, AEI resident scholar Christina Hoff Sommers.
Breitbart News reports:
Throughout the evening, the “feminist philosophy professor” rudely and repeatedly cut into Sommers’ speaking time. The professor’s intrusions grew so unbearable that Ciccotta was compelled to call her out: “Are you going to keep interrupting our speaker? How many progressive professors are at Bucknell? I think it’s like eighty percent.”
Ciccotta was later asked for commentary on the matter, and he stated: “She came to our event with the intention of making a scene. She had no genuine interest in respectfully engaging with our speaker. She set a poor example for the students in attendance. Considering that the Bucknell classroom is a safe space for progressivism, it’s disappointing that she felt so threatened by a 90-minute departure from the campus’ political orthodoxy.”
Ciccotta’s frustration is comprehensible. It is terribly ill-mannered and indecorous to interrupt a guest speaker. A professor, of all people should know better. Professors should conduct themselves with class, because they are authority figures who innately set examples for their students. The flagrant unprofessionalism is distasteful, to say the least, and this instructor owes Christina Sommers a sincere apology. This showcases yet another example of how adamant leftists are about censoring free speech that contrasts with their dogma.
