Michael Mukasey, former attorney general under George W. Bush, has told Newsmax that Loretta Lynch made the Department of Justice a bought-and-sold branch of the Clinton campaign while pressuring FBI Director James Comey to mislead Americans about the Clinton email investigation.
“What makes it egregious is the fact…that the attorney general of the United States was adjusting the way the department talked about its business so as to coincide with the way the Clinton campaign talked about that business,” Mukasey said on Friday.
“In other words, it made the Department of Justice essentially an arm of the Clinton campaign,” he continued.
Mukasey served as U.S. Attorney General from 2007 until 2009.
Comey testified to the Senate on Thursday that Lynch successfully coerced him into using the Clinton campaign’s spin on the investigation of Hillary’s use of an illegal email server, further cementing the truth in Mukasey’s mind.
“That is a betrayal of the department and of its independence…the attorney general was essentially in the tank for Secretary Clinton.”
