Even Eugene Robinson, a sold-out liberal if there ever was one, admitted in the Washington Post this week that the Trump/Russia story is a scandal in search of evidence.
He doesn’t know how right he is. The attitude of the FBI now seems to be – if you can’t find a Russian culprit for the Democrats’ election loss, invent one.
A Russian man wanted by the Justice Department on charges connected to hacking U.S. companies is now claiming that the FBI offered him immunity in exchange for confessing to cyber-attacks targeting failed 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and the DNC.
Yevgeny Nikulin, the alleged hacker, told the Russian media Thursday his side in a letter sent from a Czech Republic penitentiary.
Nikulin is currently trapped in an extradition battle between Washington and Moscow.
“He was offered to falsely testify that he was (responsible for) the attack on the Democratic Party,” defense attorney Martin Sadilek told reporters on Thursday.
