Former Presidential hopeful, Bernie Sanders, has lashed out at the Democrat party saying that it is just representing the coastal states, implying that they have been ignoring middle America for too long.
He stated that hey need to become a party that represents all 50 states. Most people would argue that a strong government needs a strong opposition, but with the Democrats still reeling from their election defeat, they look less like a government in waiting and more like a permanent protest group.
As reported in the Daily Caller:
Former Democratic presidential candidate and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders said Sunday that the Democratic party would fight to become a “50-state party,” adding that they can’t just be a “West Coast party and an East Coast party.”
“We’re going to be fighting to see that the Democratic Party becomes a 50-state party. You can’t just be a West Coast party and an East Coast party,” Sen. Sanders told CNN’s Jake Tapper on ‘State of the Union‘ Sunday morning.
He also had a lot to say about the Trump administration and its appointment of Billionaires, so it’s unlikely that Bernie will be jumping ship anytime soon. But his comments about the “out of touch” Democrats are very welcome.
