Ricky Best was stabbed to death last week on a commuter train in Portland, Oregon after he came to the rescue of two young women who were being harassed.
The Army veteran suffered fatal stab wounds after he intervened to stop a man who was yelling racist and anti-Muslim slurs towards two teenage girls on the train, according to CNN.
When Best and another man came to the girls rescue, Jeremy Christian, 35, who has been arrested for murder, stabbed them both to death.
Perhaps even more sickening than this horrible crime was the action of a still unidentified man who stole Best’s backpack and wedding ring after Best was killed. Portland Police have announced the man has been apprehended.
