Ivanka Trump‘s brand-name products have experienced a surge of popularity since being discontinued by Nordstrom, and since facing other attacks from celebrities and fashion stores.
Now, one California business is fighting back by attempting to legally ban Ivanka from doing business in The Golden State.
San Francisco retailer Modern Appealing Clothing has filed a class-action lawsuit against the First Daughter’s line of retail, citing “unfair competition.” The lawsuit demands that all Ivanka Trump products be banned from sale by the state of California.
The LLC also accuses Ivanka of receiving publicity from statements made by President Donald Trump and from her husband, Jared Kushner, as well as Kellyanne Conway who famously told TV news-watchers to “buy Ivanka’s stuff.”
“As a result of their unlawful acts, defendants have reaped and continue to reap unfair benefits and illegal profits at the expense of plaintiff,” claims the suit.
