Janina Olszweka was a former hotel maid whose love interests eventually led to her death. She was found last week dead in her apartment in Queens, New York, with blunt force trauma to the head and body.
Police say that her much younger (56 to her 80) boyfriend was arrested just days ago after the couple had a spat and he was accused of assaulting her.
Marek Piotrkowicz, 56, was arrested and charged with domestic violence five days before Olszweka’s death. The 6’6 tall man was let go on $5,000 bail, but is now a suspect in her murder.
Olszweka’s son, who lived with her, is also a suspect. Neighbors say they heard the two shouting at each other often.
The Daily Mail reports:
He was charged with assault and endangerment but released by Queens Criminal Judge John Zoll a few hours later on $5,000 bail, the New York Post reported.
Police interviewed her 6ft 6in partner on Thursday and have also talked to her son, who she lived with for more than 20 years.
Olszweka was an alcoholic who also routinely fought with her son, sources told the Post.
‘Sometimes I would hear them screaming when I took out the garbage,’ said building super Dzemail Praprankiu.
While neighbour David Perez said the police often came out to their house during their arguments.
He added: ‘Cops would be called here several times, and they would talk to him in the hallway. She could barely walk.’
Irek told cops he called 911 after he found her sleeping on the floor the night before.
