At least 19 people are dead and around 50 others injured following multiple explosions after an Ariana Grande concert held in Manchester, England on Monday night.
Greater Manchester Police had confirmed in an early report that there had been a “number of fatalities and others injured” at Manchester Arena, where Grammy-nominated pop singer Grande was performing.
Eyewitness accounts posted to social media showed convoys of ambulances moving to the center Manchester as hordes of frightened fans fled the Manchester Evening News Arena.
Details have been sketchy as the story initially broke in America. Tragically, many Twitter users felt the need to shoot down early reports of gunfire or explosions.
One tweet referenced a weird, misleading report of “a wiring explosion” while another claimed that the noise and crowd fright instantly caught on video was simply caused by balloons popping.
Authorities are now convinced that a terrorist organization claimed the lives of the innocent concert-goers. ISIS, as usual, will be a prime suspect.
