In the wake of the London terrorist attacks, police have so far arrested 12 suspects who may have had connections in terms of operational preparedness and support. This is the 3rd fatal attack in the UK in just a couple of months, and the Prime Minister has stated that in this time period, 5 credible attacks have also been thwarted.
So that was at least 8 potential attacks on the UK and its citizens. When will the world wake up to the fact that our tolerance of barbaric ideologies is not going to help extremists integrate with society? How many more deaths will it take until solid action is taken to prevent fighters returning from Syria and Iraq to wreak havoc on the streets?
With an election coming up in just a few days, we can rest assured that all political leaders will be talking tough about the measures they will take. But then after the election, things will carry on much as before…and more people will die.
As reported in the Daily Caller:
Metropolitan Police in London have arrested 12 people in connection with the terror attacks Saturday evening that hit the London Bridge and Borough Market, leaving seven dead and 48 wounded.
Following Prime Minister Theresa May’s proclamation Sunday that “things need to change,” police arrested 12 people in East London after raiding a place belonging to one of the three terrorists, BBC reports.
“We cannot and must not pretend that things can continue as they are,” May said Sunday. “There is — to be frank — far too much tolerance of extremism in our country.”
