Piers Morgan’s show is soon to be off the air and it seems that people now feel comfortable telling the British host what they really think of him. Comedian and late night host Chelsea Handler slammed Morgan as “a terrible interviewer” while appearing on his own show. Handler was on Piers Morgan Live to promote her new book Uganda Be Kidding Me.
Criticizing his constant interrupting of her and tweeting during the commercial breaks, Handler told Morgan that he couldn’t “even pay attention for sixty seconds. You’re a terrible interviewer.” The CNN host fired back by claiming that she simply wasn’t keeping his attention, but she continued to go in for the kill.
“That’s not my problem…this is your show. You have to pay attention to the guests that you invited on your show…it doesn’t matter how interesting I am. You signed up for this,” said Handler. “Well, maybe that’s why your job is coming to an end.” Morgan tried to laugh off the insult and later asked her what moment of her life she’d like to relive. Without hesitation, Handler said that “it would be spending this hour differently.”
Last week, Handler came under fire after some of her live tweets during the Oscars were deemed racist by liberal outlets, including one which read “#AngelinaJolie just filed adoption papers #lupitanyongo #Oscars.” But in an interview the following day, Handler denied being racist. “People are mad at me all the time. If I was worried about that, then I would be spending a lot of time online. I’d rather be a little bit more productive,” she said. “I’m not racist. I date a lot of black people, so that would be a difficult thing to explain to them.”
