The debacle of Obamacare has real world consequences and Ann Coulter has experienced those firsthand. The conservative commentator told Fox News earlier this week that her friend’s sister died “because of Obamacare,” after the woman was thrown off her insurance plan and consequently avoided going to the hospital. Coulter said the woman lost her coverage when Blue Shield pulled out of Obamacare. She had developed a fever, but did not get medical treatment because of what would have been high hospital balls.
“I got up the other morning and got an email from a friend saying, ‘My sister almost died because of Obamacare,” said Coulter to host Tucker Carlson. After refusing medical attention, the woman went into septic shock and Coulter’s friend later told her that she had died over the weekend.
“It’s expected. We knew this would happen. It’s a horrible story, and people need to know about these stories,” said Coulter. “I e-mailed her and asked her if I could tweet this, and she said, ‘Julie would be very happy for you to tweet this.’”
Coulter said she is now adamant that the best solution to prevent similar issues like this from happening is to get rid of Obamacare. “Everything provided by the government gets worse and more expensive over time and everything that the private sector gives us is better and less expensive,” she said. “I’d rather have our health insurance move through the same sectors that gave us iPhones … than Amtrak food service.”
