It looks like Sean Hannity is dead serious about leaving New York after Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s hateful anti-Republican comments last month. The Fox News host has put his home in Lloyd Harbor on the market for $3.6 million. His decision came after Cuomo declared in a news conference that “extreme conservatives … have no place in the state of New York.”
Hannity has not commented on whether his impending move is directly related to Cuomo, but Elena D’Agostino of Signature Premier Properties speculated, “That might be the reason.” It’s also unclear whether Cuomo would be able to take his Fox News program out of the state or if he would need to fly back and forth from his new residence. Hannity has said he would like to live in Texas or Florida, but has not picked a location yet.
“I’m going to leave and I’m taking all of my money with me. Every single solitary penny,” said Hannity, who has a net worth of $35 million. “And by the way governor, because I work here – there’s a whole bunch of people that work for me and benefit because I do two shows. And I guess maybe some of them will be out of work, governor. I’m sure you’ll take care of them.”
Although Hannity will likely wait to move until his house has been sold, it seems as though he is planning on leaving the state sooner rather than later. “I can’t wait to get out of here … I don’t want to pay their 10 percent state tax anymore,” he said. “I live in the second-highest property taxed county in the entire country in Nassau County. I can’t wait to pay no state income tax down in Florida or Texas. I haven’t decided yet, but I’m leaning Florida because I like the water and I like to fish.”
