A Republican congressman from South Carolina is pushing hard to make sure that Hilary Clinton gets a subpoena for her slow response in naming those responsible for the 2012 Benghazi attack. Trey Gowdy stated that Clinton “admitted” Ansar Al-Sharia was responsible just one day after the attack, yet made no efforts to make an announcement or move forward on the matter.
“I’m ready to send subpoenas to Hillary Clinton, [Former U.S. Ambassador] Susan Rice, Cheryl Mills and Patrick Kennedy. I’m ready to take their depositions. And I’m ready to send interrogatories to the president,” he told Greta Van Susteren on her Fox News show. “I think tomorrow [the State Dept.] is going to announce that we put a man on the moon, that the Berlin Wall fell and that we discovered this neat little drug called penicillin. “That’s about how far behind the intelligence our State Department is.”
Last November, she testified before Congress about the attack which left four Americans dead and claimed that took “responsibility” for what happened. Clinton held back tears as she talked about having “stood next to President Obama as the Marines [who] carried those flag-draped caskets off the plane at Andrews” and vowed to make sure the State Department had adequate resources to avoid similar risks in the future.
Clinton is reportedly pondering a run for President under the Democratic ticket in 2016, but has not yet stated whether she intends to run.
