An Iowa man has been arrested after police found him under a child’s bed following a disturbance call.
On April 19, police were called to the home of 33-year-old Julien Martell Skipper’s neighbor on a disturbance complaint. Police found Skipper hiding under the bed of one of the two children that live in the home.
It turned out that Martell is a convicted sex offender and had failed to disclose that he had moved into his neighbor’s home where a 5-year-old and a 10-year-old lived. According to reports, he had been living there since March 9 until he was arrested on April 19.
Initially, Skipper was charged with drug possession with intent to deliver but was hit with parole violation and two sex offender counts on Tuesday.
Skipper faces up to five years in prison because of his past record and his failure to register as a sex offender.
Back in 2007, Skipper, then 25, was convicted for forcing a 14-year-old girl to perform a sexual act on him. He also reportedly jumped on the pregnant teen’s stomach around the time of the incident.
According to the Quad City Times, Skipper was charged with sexual abuse, harboring a runaway child, and assault with injury. The girl had run away from her mom’s house a few nights prior. The paper reported that “he jumped on the pregnant girl’s stomach Feb. 21 after he had taken her to a Cedar Rapids hospital for a pregnancy test within the previous week. Skipper is accused of having the girl perform a sex act in July 2006.”
Skipper was convicted for lascivious acts with a child.
