A married couple who held their own toddlers down and raped them have managed to avoid spending the rest of their lives in prison for their disgusting crimes. Syracuse native Ronald Clark, 33, was given the maximum sentence of 27-29 years in prison for two counts of rape and possessing child pornography, but the judge in the case made it clear that he would impose a longer sentence if possible. His wife Sierra Clark, who held the two toddlers down while he raped them, is currently locked up will soon receive her sentence for rape and sex abuse charges.
Keeping his head down and avoiding eye contact with anyone, Ronald didn’t look up once while Judge Anthony Aloi slammed him for the crimes against his then two-year-old and four-year-old daughters in 2010. “You have sentenced these two children to a life sentence. They will have to live with the effect of your conduct for the rest of their lives,” he said. “This is truly one of the most vile and disgusting cases that has come across my desk that I can ever remember. The only word that I can use to describe the acts, are that they are ‘vile’. I don’t know if ‘vile’ even comes close to what it really is.”
Assistant District Attorney Jeff Schiano called Ronald “less than a human being” and said his acts were “unforgivable.” Ronald had previously sent an apology to the District Attorney’s Office and his victims, but Schiano it held no weight. “I received your apology for your cold, monstrous acts. On behalf of the people of the State of New York and on behalf of the victims of this case, your apology is not accepted,” he said. “You should never ever be allowed to breathe the same air as those two innocent children breathe.”
Schiano said the girls, now ages 5 and 7, are in the custody of another family and “doing great.”
