A West Virginia man has been arrested after sexually abusing multiple children, one as young as 3 years old.
Police say 56-year-old James Irvin of Bluefield has been charged with 10 counts of sexual abuse and five counts of sexual assault against three juvenile victims.
According to authorities, two of the children lived with their parents in Irvin’s house. The alleged incidents reportedly occurred back in 2007 but did not come to light until now. At the time of the incidents, the victims were 3, 9, and 13 years old.
According to reports, Irvin is a Pagan and described the sex acts as Pagan rituals. One of his victims says she forced her to have sex with him after he said it was “magic” that was going to “make mommy well” while their mom was sick.
A second victim says that her mother believed Irvin was “a magical Warlock.” Her mother had told her she “was going to have to do something to keep her well which involved magic with Irvin.” The girl says she had to go to Irvin’s bedroom after school every day for two weeks where he forced her to perform sexual acts.
The third victim is a family friend who says that she was sexually abused by Irvin four times at his house. He also told her that his “magic” could “make her recently deceased father come back.”
Investigators were also told by Irvin’s ex-wife that he had sexually assaulted their daughter 20 years ago but fled Texas for West Virginia to escape the law.
He is now being held on $100,000 bond at Southern Regional Jail in Beaver.
