GOP congressman Aaron Schock is being accused of hiding his homosexuality, despite lending his support to initiatives to ban gay marriage. Former CBS news member Itad Hoy wrote a lengthy Facebook post this past weekend that questioned why a journalist had never “outed” Schock as gay, declaring that it was the “obligation” of journalists to expose hypocrisy where it existed.
Hod claimed that Schock, who represents Illinois’ 18th congressional district, was caught in the shower with another male journalist by his roommate and that TMZ had obtained video of him in gay bars. However, the gossip site has never posted such video content and it’s almost a guarantee they would if they had it.
“Now they could have been good friends just trying to conserve water,” wrote Hay about Schock and the alleged shower incident. “[But] what if you know that this very same guy, the darling of the gop, has also voted against repeal of don’t ask don’t tell, opposed the repeal of doma, is against gay marriage; and for the federal marriage amendment … are we still not allowed to out him?”
Hod also posted a link to an article entitled “The 7 gayest Aaron Schock Instagram posts of 2013,” and made reference to the politician being friends with on the photo site with British diver Tom Daley, who recently came out as bisexual. After the Facebook post went viral, Schock changed his Instagram settings to private. He has not commented on the latest round of gay rumors, but has publicly identified as straight in the past.
